PORTLAND- The heavens gained a party planner on November 14, 2025, when Beverly Doris Pelletier, passed away at the age of 72 – but you can bet she arrived with a casserole, deck of cards, and a list of people she planned to organize for a reunion.
Born and raised in Lewiston, and a longtime resident of Poland, Beverly filled every corner of her life with joy, generosity, and just the right amount of mischief.
She leaves behind her husband of 52 years and partner-in-everything, Paul Pelletier, who somehow kept up with her; her son James Pelletier, who inherited at least some of her energy; and her grandchildren Gavin and Madelyn, who she spoiled with zero shame and 100% delight. She will also be missed by her sisters Barbara, Joanne, and Terry; and her brothers Bert, Carl, and Vernon. She joins in heaven her daughter Jessica, along with sisters, Susan, Ethel, and Nancy, and her father and mother, Benjamin and Estelle (Poissonnier) Pelletier, all of whom she missed dearly.
Beverly was one of ten children, and her siblings were not just family – they were her closest friends. Add in lifelong friends Terry Acheson and Joelle Dennison. And she had a team of partners-in-crime for everything from card games to simply enjoying the day and time spent together.
Beverly lived a life defined by generosity, warmth, and devotion to others. She was known for always being there when someone needed her – offering support, comfort, food, or simply an open door. A natural host, she created countless gatherings over the years. Each filled with laughter, great food, and the kind of togetherness she valued most. Whether it was a holiday celebration, a themed party, or her legendary chocolate-dipping parties, Beverly brought people together with an effortless blend of love and humor.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life – her flower gardens, time spent in the sun or by the pool, cozy evenings by the fire, and rounds of cards with family and friends. She adored her grandchildren and wore the title of “Meme” with immense pride. They will forever remember her singing “You are my sunshine…” and saying “I love you to the moon and back!”. Beverly had a deep admiration and unwavering respect for her husband, Paul, and together they walked through life as true partners.
Beverly had a generous spirit and a giving heart. She especially loved participating in the annual “Giving Tree”, always bringing a grandchild or young family member along to show them the meaning of selflessness – a tradition that became one of her favorites. She loved quilting, decorating for Halloween and Christmas, and meticulously setting up her holiday village each year – which could have qualified as a small municipality.
Her laugh was unmistakable – big, bold, and full of life – and her voice would echo through arenas and backyards with ease. Beverly loved people fiercely, and she loved her family most of all. She was the glue that held so many together, the organizer of memories, the creator of traditions, and the one who made sure everyone was fed, loved, and laughing. She was a mother figure to many, a friend to all, and a bright presence whose love will remain with everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.
Beverly will be deeply missed, joyfully remembered, celebrated in every gathering she inspired, and remembered for the countless lives she touched simply by being herself.
