

He was World War II Veteran of the U S Navy, following the war he was involved with commercial construction where he had been employed most of his life as a crane operator with Cote Crane Corporation until his retirement.
He was an avid golfer which he claimed kept him alive for so long. He also was sports enthusiast watching football, baseball, and golf tournaments on TV which he enjoyed even if the games kept him up at all night. He will be sadly missed by family, friends, and all that knew him.
He is survived by his Daughter Joyce Gibson Estes and her husband Kenneth Estes of Auburn, his grandson Robert Estes of Auburn his granddaughter Tanya Estes of New Gloucester and four great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Thelma Hodgkins Gibson .

GIBSON - died in Auburn April 3, 2016, Mr. C. Robert Gibson age 96 years a resident of Auburn.
Graveside committal will be held 2:00 PM FRIDAY May 13th at Oak Hill Cemetery Auburn with the United States Navy Honor Detail conducting military honors.
