

Lewiston – Carmen G. Martin, 85, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday September 7, 2015 at St. Mary's D'Youville Pavillon. She was born in Lewiston on November 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Wilfrid and Veronique (Deschaine) Rivard. She attended Lewiston schools and on April 25, 1953 she married Laurent Martin. Together they raised their family and were vey involved in The Knights of Columbus until his death on August 2, 2009. She was a machine operator for Maine Electronics until her retirement. Carmen enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing and most especially loved taking her children to the beach on Sundays when they were younger. She is survived by her daughter Ann Marie Albert and husband Mark of Lewiston, 2 sons: Paul Martin and wife Diane of Greene, Donald Martin and wife Marlene of Lewiston, 3 sisters: Jane Landry of Auburn, Pauline Pomerleau and husband Luc of Lewiston, Lorraine Drouin and husband Richard of Lewiston, 2 brothers: Normand Rivard and wife Yvette of Poland, Robert Rivard and wife Marguerite of Mechanic Falls, 7 grandchildren: Jeff, Jake, Adam, Brad, Sheena, Jason and Mark Jr. and 7 great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Laurent Martin, a son: Mark Martin Sr., and 2 sisters: Priscilla and Marcelle. Visiting hours will be held at Fortin\Lewiston on Thursday September 10 from 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday September 11 at 11 AM at Holy Cross Church followed by committal services at St. Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
