Auburn-Cecile A. Cameron, 105, of 23 Spofford Street, Lewiston, died on January 6, 2019 at Clover Manor in Auburn. She was born in Lewiston on March 6, 1913 the daughter of Joseph and Malvina (Pivin) Morin. She was the widow of Lionel L. Cameron whom she married on October 4, 1969 and who died on October 01, 1993. Cecile was educated in local schools. She worked for many years in local shoe shops as a stitcher until her retirement on at age 61 in 1974. She was a life time member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, in Lewiston and was very devoted to her Catholic faith. Cecile was a very active woman and kept herself very busy until the age of 104. In her younger days Cecile enjoyed going on various trips with her husband. Later on in life she continued taking bus tours with the Lewiston Senior Citizens to Canada, Boston, and New York. She was an avid reader, loved playing cards, and especially enjoyed going out to eat at her favorite restaurants. Cecile enjoyed the holidays and all the family gatherings with her family and later on in years with her many nieces and nephews. Cecile is survived by her many nieces and nephews of Lewiston, Auburn, Connecticut and American Samoa. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Malvina Morin, her husband, Lionel L. Cameron, her sisters Juliette Lapointe, Lucienne Blanchette, Laurette Albert, Jeannette Therriault and Lucille Letourneau; her brothers Lionel and Romeo Morin; nephews Roger Morin, Dolor Dionne and David Blanchette, and Daniel Chartier; nieces Irene Morin and Doris Robbins. Special thanks to Clover Health Care staff for all the special care given to Cecile during the year a-half she resided there. Also, to Beacon Hospice’s loving staff for providing Cecile with personalized care, including manicures and daily companionship. The family would like to thank both organizations for providing Cecile with a wonderful 105 Birthday Party with cards, balloons, cupcakes, cookies, flowers, and a special birthday meal of her choice. Cecile will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to know her. Visitation Fortin Lewiston Thursday Jan. 10 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Jan 11 at 1PM at The Basilica of Ss. Peter & Paul. Committal will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
