Auburn – Cecile J. Leclair, 98, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday September 16, 2018 at The Sarah Frye Home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lewiston on May 29, 1920, a daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Philion) Sirois. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, Holy Cross Church in Lewiston. On September 2, 1942, she married the love of her life, Rodolphe Leclair in Lewiston at Holy Cross Church. They were happily married for 61 years until his passing in 2000. Besides raising her young family, she also worked as a stitcher in the shoe manufacturing mills in the twin cities, working 20 of those years at Hallowell Shoe in Auburn.
Cecile is survived by 2 daughters: Anita Marquis and husband Don of Jay, Me., Jeanne Wentworth and husband Darrell of Lisbon, 1 son: Robert Leclair and wife Kathy of Lewiston, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 70 Horton Street in Lewiston on Thursday September 20, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1:00 pm at The Basilica of Ss. Peter and Paul in the upper church. Committal services will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery (mausoleum) in Lewiston.
