

Born in Barre, VT, July 2, 1932 the daughter of Rosaire and Dolores Veilleux Loiselle, she moved to Lewiston as an infant. She graduated from St. Dominic’s H.S. in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart, Richard A. Martel, on September 27, 1952.
She was fond of her lab work at St. Mary’s Hospital before becoming a full-time homemaker. Once her children were grown, she returned to work at People’s Bank until retiring to Florida. She dedicated much of her free time volunteering. She was a long-standing active member of Holy Cross Church as a lector, choir member, and Eucharistic minister as well as a strong supporter of Holy Cross School and St. Dom’s. While in Florida, she continued her commitment as a volunteer for the Church and local hospice and enjoyed her many years serving at the food pantry.
She is survived by her two sons, Richard R. and wife Fei, of Florida, and Raymond and wife Rhonda, of Lewiston; four daughters, Claire Marshall and husband, Glenn, of Delaware, Susan Odle and husband, Roger, of Florida, Louise Stapleton and husband, Michael, of Massachusetts, and Pauline Bernardy and husband Scott, of North Yarmouth; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Martel, Melissa Love, Richard L. Martel, Jonathan and Nicole Marshall, Alex and Morgan Corbett, Kayla Lamb, Adli Sullivan, Bradley Carr, and Thomas Stapleton; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters, Berthe and husband Don Hutchinson, Laurette and husband Bertrand Boucher, Jeanne Letourneau; two brothers, Leo Loiselle and wife Emily, and Donald Loiselle and wife, Rebecca.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, sisters Rolande Fortin, Annette Loiselle, and Lucille Reilly, and brother Raymond Loiselle.
A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Celine's life will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday September 12th at Holy Cross Church. Committal prayers to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to visit Sunday September 11th from 4-6PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred Plourde Parkway Lewiston.
