
� ��Charles Jean Eli Peillet - February 6, 1929 - November 15, 2007 Charles "C. P." Peillet, a native of Rumford, Maine moved to lewiston in 1956 to live with the love of his Hfe, Lucille Comeau Peillet. Son of Auguste Noel Peillet and Madeline Grimaldi Grimaud Kloesz, Chuck was brought at a young age to his parent's native France where he spent most of his youth and was educated in French schools. He often visited with his family in France, most recently this past summer visiting Grenoble and Embrun. � A proud member of the United States Army Constabulary, 1st CO. 3rd BN 6th Artillery Command, Chuck continued his association with his band of brothers up to his final days. He was part of the peace keeping troops in Europe after W.W. II where his language skills and cultural awareness of French and German cultures proved invaluable in aiding relations in foreign affairs. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed landscaping, fishing and walks with his beloved Weimaraners, Duke and Daizie. His later years were spent maintaining his lakeside home which brought him lasting memories with his beloved wife Lucille. Chuck was an accomplished business professional and athlete. As president and founder of CPo Associates, Chuck established his reputation for honesty and integrity in his field. He served as President of the Underwriters Insurance Association. As an athlete, he achieved several awards while in the U.S. Army for long distance swimming on an international basis. This led to interest by the U.s. Olympic Swim association to have Chuck coach within their organization in Florida. While he was honored by the opportunity, Chuck decided to return to Maine which he and Lucille loved. Chuck was a practicing Roman Catholic who was proud to have been the first couple married and have all three of their children baptized at the Franciscan Greene Monastery. He volunteered for several years with the St. Joseph Boy Scouts of America, Troop 171 and was a Scout Leader of his son Mark's group. He was active in several civic and community groups such as working on behalf of his dear friend, John Jenkins, on the Mayor's first political campaign and the Greene Economic & Community Development Association. Chuck was vigilant in his passion to preserve the pristine natural habitat of Lake Sabattus. He is survived by his children, Susan Peillet Yule of West Ne'wton, MAJ Mark Peillet of Auburn and Karen Pulkkinen of lewiston and their families as well as his nephew and Godchild, Charles Despres of France. Chuck will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Sean Charles Yule of Newton, MA and Kali pulkkinen of Lewiston. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille in 2003. PEILLET died in Greene, November 15, 2007, Mr. Charles J. Peillet age 78 years a resident of Greene. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held MONDAY 11:00AM at St. Francis Mission, Greene. Committal prayers to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery..
