Clara E. Pike

LEWISTON - Clara E. Pike, 90, a resident of Auburn died peacefully early Monday morning at Central Maine Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Chester, ME May 26, 1916, the daughter of Arthur and Lottie (Beathem) Clukey. She attended schools in Chester and Winn then moved to Auburn in 1938 where she became a member of Court Street Baptist Church.During World War II she served her country as a welder BIW Shipyard in Bath, and in 1944 married Neville Pike who died December 31, 1959. She raised three sons and began work at Roak the Florist for 20 years retiring in 1986. She was a life member and past matron of the Pine Cone Chapter #26 O.E.S.; member of the Young at Heart and Robin Dow Club; she was past president of the Past Matrons Association, and past president of Viola Circle, and she also enjoyed traveling. Survivors include three sons, Brian and his wife, Marie of Lewiston; Gary and his wife, Joyce of Pelham, NH; and Randolph and his wife, Katheryn of South Portland; one brother, Richard Clukey and his wife, Betty of Mechanic Falls; one sister, Harriet St. Germain of Southington, CT. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. � Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 8 siblings. PIKE died in Lewiston, May 7, 2007, Mrs. Clara E.Pike age 90 years a resident of Auburn. Funeral services honoring her life will be held WEDNESDAY 11:00AM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Reverend Charles Bray officiating. Burial with graveside committal prayers to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn.
