Claudette P. (Larivierre) Rand, 82, of Lewiston met her Creator early Sunday morning on April 17th with family by her side at The Hospice House in Auburn. She was born on Sept. 14, 1933 to the late Leo and Louise (Nault) Larivierre of Biddeford. She went through the Biddeford school system before moving up to the Lewiston/Auburn area where she worked for local shoe shops in during her youthful years. She eventually found her true calling when she started working for the Italian Bakery on Bartlett Street in Lewiston. Claudette eventually left the bakery to work for Shaw’s Supermarket where she decorated cakes for 23 years. Claudette was truly a gift to all that knew her and loved her family and friends dearly. With a huge heart, strong French upbringing and a loud laugh, the only thing small about this beloved Nana was her petite frame. She gave all of her time and passion to her loved ones and to the Holy Family Church of Lewiston which she was actively involved in for several decades. Claudette was simple woman with a witty sense of humor that stayed with her until the very end. In her leisure time she was often found cooking, gardening, and making complex puzzles that would take countless days to complete. Her list of enjoyments would not be complete without mentioning her love for soap operas and the countless card games she played with her daughters on a weekly basis. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Austin and the wonderful staff at the Hospice House for all of the care, comfort and support provided to Claudette during her last few months.
