Carey, NC - With heavy hearts and immense gratitude for her life, the family of Cleo Bosse, of Lewiston, ME , announces her peaceful passing on 5/19/2025 at the age of 86. A proud matriarch, Cleo was the heart of the Bosse family—a woman of incredible strength, warmth, and resilience.
Cleo raised her four children (Daniel, Sandra, Ann, and Paul) on her own after the passing of the love of her life, Clement. She guided them with unwavering love, fierce determination, and the kind of wisdom that only life and experience can teach. Her home was a haven, where family came first and every challenge was met with courage and grace.
While raising her children, Cleo held many hardworking positions in her life. She worked as a florist at Dubes Flower Shop as well as maintaining the spinning machines at the Libbey Mill. Cleo had the pleasure of working with Connie's Catering, which she continued to share stories about through the years. And, lastly, she worked at Russell Park Manor.
Deeply proud of her French Canadian heritage, Cleo honored her roots in both word and deed. Her cherished recipes—passed down from generation to generation—were a staple at every family gathering. From Creton, fiddleheads, salted herbs for chicken soup, ployes, chicken stew, ice box cake, and good old buttered noodles for the kids, her cooking was a love language, bringing comfort and connection to all who sat at her table.
Her role as “Memère” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was one she treasured deeply. Always with her signature tinted lip and hint of Chanel, she celebrated their joys, comforted them in times of need, and made each one feel uniquely loved. Her stories, laughter, and presence will forever echo in their hearts.
Cleo’s life was a testament to the power of perseverance, tradition, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of family bonded through her example—a legacy that will continue to grow and thrive because of the foundation she so lovingly built.
