Daniel N. Guerette

Daniel Normand “Danny” Guerette, 66, of Sabattus, Maine, passed away on July 2, 2026, following a short illness.

Danny was born on January 15, 1960. The son of Normand and Mary Jane (Asselin) Guerette. He graduated from Edward Little High School and continued his education at the University of Southern Maine.

Known to many simply as “Danny,” he was a humble, kind-hearted man whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. He never sought the spotlight and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. From 2004 to 2010, Danny lived in Arizona—his “happy place.” Although he loved his time there, he returned to Maine to be closer to the family.

Music was one of the greatest joys of Danny’s life. Whether he was playing the guitar or piano, writing his own songs, listening to an album, or learning about the history of his favorite bands, music was always close to his heart.

Danny was a devoted New England sports fan through and through. He faithfully cheered on the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, and University of Maine Black Bears hockey. Win or lose, he was always a loyal fan.

Family meant everything to Danny. He especially adored his nieces and nephews and treasured every opportunity to spend time with his family. He never missed a birthday and always made sure the people he loved knew he was thinking of them. His kindness, thoughtfulness, and quiet love for his family were among his greatest gifts.

Danny was predeceased by his father, Normand Guerette, his brother, John Guerette, his paternal grandparents Raoul and Marie Louise Guerette and his maternal grandparents Charles Asselin and Blanche Asselin.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Mary Jane Guerette; his sister, Ann Therriault and her husband, Michael; his brother, Jeffrey Guerette and his wife, Carolyn; his nieces and nephews, Corey Therriault and wife Abigail, Ian Therriault, Emma Guerette, Abby Guerette, and Jonathan Guerette; his great-nieces and great-nephew, Nora, Landon and Lily; extended family; and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Danny’s life was defined not by the challenges he faced, but by the kindness he showed, the music he loved, and the quiet, steadfast love he gave to his family and friends.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or to an organization supporting music education in Danny’s memory.
