Daniel Richard Perreault

LEWISTON- Daniel “Dan” Richard Perreault, 63, of Lewiston, Maine, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Andwell Hospice House, surrounded by the love and support of his family.

Dan was born on October 8, 1962, in Lewiston, Maine, to Damien R. and Gisele C. (Bolduc) Perreault. He attended Holy Cross Elementary School and St. Dominic High School and chipped away at his bachelor's degree for many years at the University of Maine at Augusta while raising his family—a testament to his determination and commitment to lifelong learning.

On August 13, 1983, Dan married Janet at St. Louis Church in Auburn, Maine. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with countless memories, laughter, adventures, and service to others.

Dan dedicated nearly 48 years of his life to Shaw’s Supermarket, where he formed lasting friendships and considered his coworkers his second family. His years at Shaw’s were an important part of his life, and the relationships he built there meant so much to him.

Family was at the heart of everything Dan did. He loved spending time with those he loved, whether cruising, camping, cutting trees, relaxing at the pool, playing pickleball and bowling, or cheering on the Boston Red Sox. He especially treasured supporting his children and grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to be involved in their lives.

Dan was also deeply committed to his community. Over the years, he supported his children and countless other young people through numerous organizations and activities, including South Lewiston Little League, the Lewiston-Auburn Cheering Board, Lewiston Area Youth Hockey, the Holy Family Ice Hockey Booster Club, the Lions Tournament, Mission to Mississippi, and the St. Dominic Booster Club. He also performed many acts of service for his community that were never recognized or formally recorded. For Dan, helping others was simply something you did.

Those who knew Dan will remember him as the life of the party—someone with a wonderful sense of humor who could bring laughter wherever he went. He was a kind soul, caring, compassionate, generous, and adventurous. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his presence brought joy to the lives of so many.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Perreault; his daughter, Rebecca and her husband Michael Knapp, and their children, Elise, Samuel, and Rosie; He is also survived by his son, Michael Perreault and his wife Brittany and stepdaughter Goldie Sullivan; his sister, Nancy Wood, and her husband Daniel; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members throughout the United States and Canada, and his second family at Shaw's.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lu Emerson, Samual Gagnon, and Matt Harden, and the wonderful staff at these offices, as well as Gary and Cathy Simard, Dianne and Pete Nadeau, and the many friends, family members, and loved ones who offered their support, kindness, and friendship throughout Dan’s illness. As well as Shaw's Supermarket for showing such great compassion and kindness to Dan's family as they navigate this difficult time.

A visitation and celebration of Dan’s life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM, at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. Dan's memorial service will follow immediately after, beginning at 7:00 PM. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.

Dan leaves behind a lifetime of memories, countless friendships, and a legacy of love and service. He will be remembered for his laughter, his generous heart, his devotion to his family, and the many lives he touched along the way. His absence will be deeply felt, but the love and memories he gave his family and friends will remain forever.
