

LEWISTON- It is with great sadness that the family of Danville Dearborn, Jr. announces his passing on June 4, 2026. His death was a result of complications of diabetes and pneumonia. Dan was born on June 27, 1950, the son of Danville Sr. and Margaret Dearborn.
Dan attended and graduated from Livermore Falls High School with the class of 1968 and from the University of Maine at Portland-Gorham four years later. During his career he worked as a Business Manager in various school districts and finally as an Ed Tech for RSU #4.
In 1972, Dan married the love of his live, Peggy Footman of Greene. They shared fifty-three years of marriage together. They have one son, Joshua, who is their pride and joy. The couple enjoyed antiquing, going to flea markets, and celebrating holidays with family and friends.
Dan is survived by his wife Peggy, son Josh (Ingrid) grandsons Ian, Harrison, and Isaac, his sister Dorothy Maxwell, and cousin Annie Stevens. Sisters-in-law Karen Footman, Elaine Hart, and Tracey Johnson. The family additionally thanks special friends Bob Johnson, and Melanie and Kevin Burgess, for their unwavering support, especially during the final stages of Dan’s life.
The family would like to thank everyone at St. Mary’s D’Youville Pavillion, the Wound Center at St. Mary’s Hospital, and Central Maine Medical Center who not only cared for his medical needs but treated him with the kindness and respect that he deserved.
By Dan’s request, there will be no funeral service. Instead, those who knew and loved him will come together to celebrate a life well lived, remembering the many ways he touched our lives and the memories we will cherish forever.
If anyone wishes, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Danville Dearborn.
