David W. Rowe

AUBURN ? David W. ?Doc? Rowe, 68, died February 26 at Hospice House in Auburn after a brief illness. � Born March 11, 1938 in Waltham, MA, the son of Robert Rowe and Roberta Holmes. �He spent his early childhood in Brockton, Mass. until moving to Washington, D.C. �He spent many summers in Lewiston with his grandfather, longtime Dean of Bates College Harry W. Rowe. �He attended Theodore Roosevelt high school, in Washington, graduating in 1956.While at Roosevelt; he excelled in track and football, playing in the City Championship in 1955, something of which he was very proud. �After spending a year in the U.S. Army, he enrolled at the American University, graduating in 1960 with a degree in Marketing and Business Administration. �While attending AU, he was a four year letterman in Track &Field and very active in his Fraternity, Alpha Tau Omega. �Until his retirement, he worked as a commercial insurance salesman, first in the Washington area and then in Maine, after moving to Auburn in 1977. He will be fondly remembered by his daughter, Beckie L. Rowe of Reston, Virginia, his son Todd W. Rowe and his wife Wilma, and their sons Anthony, Nicholas, Peter and Kenneth, all of Hunt Valley, Maryland. �Other survivors include his ex-wife and dear friend Donna Rowe of Auburn, his brother Richard Rowe and his family. �He also had many close and devoted friends in the Lewiston-Auburn area, who the family wishes to thank for their true friendship and love of Doc. �Mr. Rowe was predeceased by his parents. NOTICE Rowe- Died in Auburn February 26, 2007. Mr. David W. ?Doc? age 68 a resident of Auburn. A Memorial Service will be held Friday 1PM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
