TURNER: David Normand Veilleux, age 42, was welcomed into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior at his home in Turner on Friday, December 27th. David was born on August 17, 1971 in Lewiston, Maine a son of Donat and Doris (Laflamme) Veilleux. David attended Lewiston High School, graduating in 1989 and St. Michael’s College, graduating in 1993. David went on to study law at the USM School of Law, graduating in 1996. Prior to serving as Disability Benefits Director at UNUM, David practiced law with James Howaniec and Tom Peters in Lewiston. David’s interests included biking, running, camping with his cousins, and Scouting. He loved his kids dearly and was very involved in all their activities. Carter’s music, Chloe’s dancing and Gavin’s soccer brought David great joy and pride. David served as lector at Holy Family Church. He was a member of the Maine Bar Association and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his parents, Donat and Doris Veilleux of Lewiston, his daughter Chloe, his two sons Carter and Gavin, his brother Derek and his partner Ronald Hunt, his grandfather Marcel Laflamme, several aunts, uncles and cousins as well as his former wife Kimberly Landry Veilleux. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother and his paternal grandparents. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 2, 2014 from 5-8pm at the funeral home in Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 3, 2014 at 9am at Holy Family Church in Lewiston followed by a committal service at St. Peter’s Cemetery also in Lewiston.
