Donald Richard Dechene 85 of Poland, Maine passed peacefully at his home on June 19, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on February 13, 1941 in Lewiston, Maine, he was the son of Omer Dechene and Muriel (Bonin) Dechene. He married Claire Charest October 14, 1961 and they shared 65 happy years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife Claire, his son Daniel Dechene, his son David Dechene and wife Mary; his daughter Celeste and husband Alfred Francisco, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and two siblings, Carmen Caron and Bernice Frasier.
He was preceded in death by his parents Omer and Muriel Dechene.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation at the Fortin and Pinette Funeral Home, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 1 to 3pm. A funeral mass will immediately follow the visitation at the funeral home on the same day.
