Doris T. Fisher

Doris was born in Lewiston Maine on May 24, 1937. She was the daughter of Alphonse and Yvonne (Levesque) Raymond.

She was married in Lewiston on August 7, 1960 to the love of her life Joseph Fisher Sr. In 1965 they moved to Sabattus to raise their five children. She had been a resident of Sabattus for most of her adult life.

Doris was educated in local schools and attended classes at the local community college in order to make progress in learning computer science which she enjoyed tremendously. In addition, she graduated classes at CMMC hospital for her clinical in the certified nursing assistance programs. She then went on to work at D'Youville Pavilion for 18 years. She left nursing to work at walmart for a short time then retired to become primary care giver to her husband Joseph Fisher during his long illness with heart disease, she was at his side until his life ended on April 29, 2010.

A parishioner ofthe Our Lady of the Rosary church in Sabattus, she was also a member ofthe American Legion Auxiliary Unit 135 in Sabattus, The Senior Citizens of Sabattus, and served as a helper at the Knights of Columbus dinners in Sabattus.

Doris is survived by four children: Juanita Spencer and her husband Steven Spencer of Sabattus, Veronica Fisher of Sabattus, Joseph Fisher Jr. and his significant other Kelly Morrison of Leeds, John Fisher of Sabattus. Three sisters: Rita Dorrington and husband Alan of Auburn, Patricia Putnam and husband Roger of Gardiner, Pauline Severino and husband Daniel of Pennsylvania, one brother Roger Raymond of Lewiston, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Alphonse and Yvonne (Levesque) Raymond, her husband Joseph E Fisher Sr., her sisters Irene Delorme and Noella Roberts, and her son James J Fisher, and daughter-in-law Jean Fisher.

Fisher- Died in Auburn on Sunday, January 22, 2017. Mrs. Doris T. age 79 a resident of Auburn and formerly of Sabattus. A Funeral Mass honoring Doris’ life will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Sabattus. Committal services will be held later in the spring at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sabattus. Those wishing may make donations in Doris’ memory to the American Heart Association 51 US Route 1 Scarborough, Maine 04074. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston 784-4023.
