Lewiston, ME – Doris Y. (Chabot) Gagne, 82, of Lewiston passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Normand R. Gagne, who died July 3, 2024.
She was born on January 11, 1943 in Lewiston a daughter of the late Edward R. & Veronica (Albert) Chabot. Doris attended local schools remaining a lifelong resident of Lewiston.
She meet the love of her life Normand Gagne and they were married on October 3, 1958 and spent almost sixty-six years together.
Doris was a hard worker, spending most of her life working in local shoe shops. She was a proud wife, mother and grandmother. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She enjoyed many years going for Sunday rides and riding on the back of Norm’s motorcycle.
She leaves behind her three children Monique Labbay (David), Daniel Gagne and Anita Lalonde (David, previously deceased) She also leaves her nine grandchildren Zachary (Julie), Sasha (Roy), Benjamin (Natashia), Nicole (Thomas), Michael (Sara), Amy, Douglas (Jessica), Jessica (William) and Desmond (Avery) and her thirteen great grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as Memere Dot. She also leaves behind her favorite cat Max.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 11 am at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Deer Road, Lewiston.
