

AUBURN- Doris Louise Sullivan, 88, of Auburn passed away on Friday January 4, 2013 at Clover Manor Health Care Facility following a short illness. She was born at her home on the family farm in Durham, Maine on February 12, 1924 the daughter of the late Harry A. and Maude (Moore) Davis. Doris was educated in Durham at a one room school house and finished high school at Edward Little High School on Academy Street in Auburn in1941. After school she worked as a secretary at Walton Junior High School then went on to work as a bookkeeper at CMP, where she met and married James E. Sullivan in 1945. They resided in Auburn raising three boys, until moving to Sanford in 1962. Doris was an avid sports enthusiast supporting her boys through their high school careers. She loved the Red Sox’s and Patriots as well. She was a hard worker but always had something good to say about everybody. She loved social events, church functions, playing beano and family get togethers. After Jim died in 1973, Doris started an antique business in downtown Hallowell. Her sewing circle included Slate’s Restaurant and Cox Memorial Church. She later relocated back to Auburn living at the Towne House on Lake Auburn Ave. before entering Clover. Doris is survived by her sons Michael Sullivan and his wife Pam of Turner, Daniel Sullivan and his wife Jeanne of Gorham and Barry Sullivan and his wife Susan of Brewer; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two older brothers Forrest and Harold Davis and by one younger brother Robert Davis.
