

LEWISTON- Dorothy Therese (Blais) Charpentier, 100, of Lewiston, passed away on January 08, 2026, at home in Portland with her loving daughter, Tina Charpentier by her side. She was born in Lewiston on November 01, 1925, to Lucien and Roseanna (Belanger) Blais and was the oldest of 2 children.
Dorothy attended St. Mary’s School in Lewiston and Lewiston High School.
In 1946, she married the love of her life, Normand Charpentier at Holy Family Church and had 2 children.
She worked in Lewiston shoe factories and modeled “Fiancee's” shoes for Clark Shoe in Auburn for many years where she became lifelong friends with Lillian Ayotte and Blanche Maheux who are both deceased.
Dorothy was dedicated to her family, friends, work, community, and her Catholic faith. She was an avid reader who enjoyed reminiscing about historical events. Dorothy believed in the power of prayer and had clipped an article titled, “The Paradox of Our Age,” as “Food for Thought.”
She was honored for her volunteer time of 18 years at St. Mary’s Food Pantry where she made special friends, Laurette Doyon and Terry McCormack. Dorothy was loved and will be missed by so many.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Normand, in 1985. Her son, Ronald Charpentier, founder of Ron’s Transmission, and his wife Priscilla (Lamontagne) Charpentier. Her brother, Richard Blais, and his wife Jeanette Robichaud Blais.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Charpentier of Portland. Her grandson, Ronald Charpentier and his wife Katy of Wales, Maine. Her granddaughter Sandy Longley and her husband Jonathan of South Paris. Her grandson, Alphonse Blouin and his wife Brenda of Lewiston. Her great grandson Chad Morin and his wife Hannah of Auburn. Her great great grandson, Cyrus Morin of Auburn. Her Godson, Roger Bolduc of Prosper, TX, and many special nieces and nephews.
