

LEWISTON - Edgar D. "Blackie" Belanger, 82, a resident of 158 Russell Street formerly of Old Greene Rd, died Thursday, December 18th with his family by his side at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center following a short illness. He was born in Caribou, October 18, 1926, the son of Amos and and Anna (Cyr) Belanger. Mr. Belanger was a member of Holy Family Church, the Knights of Columbus Council #10019 and the Reverend Peter Conroy Assembly #2516 of Holy Family Parish. He had been employed with Central Medical Center until his retirement. His hobbies included golf, fishing, and woodworking. Survivors include his wife, the former Lorraine Turcotte of Lewiston; two daughters, Diane Belanger of Orono, and Donna Belanger of Auburn; one son, Roland Belanger of Auburn. Also surviving are two grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Russell Park and St. Mary's Hospital for the wonderful care given to Edgar during his illness. BELANGER died in Lewiston, December 18, 2008, Mr. Edgar D.
