Elizabeth “Betty” Boyle, 93, of Auburn, Maine formerly of Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania, passed away December 22nd, 2019. She was born in Jim Thorpe Pennsylvania on December 3rd, 1926. A graduate of East Mauch Chunk High School, she was married to Thomas Boyle of Jim Thorpe in January of 1951. Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Catherine Sommers and husband Brian, grandson Jeffrey Herman, wife Rebecca and daughter Katelyn, granddaughter Melissa Gagnon, husband Pete and daughters Libby and Maggie, nephew Thomas Solski and wife Romaine, great-nephew Ryan Solski and family, great-niece Lauren Solski, great-niece Maggie Clay and family, step-grandson Steve Sommers and family and step-grandson Brian Sommers and family. She was preceded in death by mother Helen, father Thomas, brother William, sister Margaret Solski and husband Paul, and nephew Michael Solski . Services will be held on December 31st in Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Visitation will be held at Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center Street from 9:00 a.m to 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 526 North Street at 11:00 a.m., burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
