Eugenie Baillargeon

LEWISTON- Eugenie Baillargeon, 96, formerly of 74 Lake Auburn Avenue, Auburn died Wednesday April 7, 2010 at Montello Manor with her loving family by her side following a short illness. She was born in Chisholm, Maine on July 14, 1913 the daughter of Andre and Anne (Landry) Gallant and had been a resident of this community since 1933. She was employed as a weaver at the Bates Mill, then became a homemaker having raised six children which she enjoyed very much. She was married to Jerome Baillargeon on September 11, 1937; and he died on January 4, 1999. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Parish and a member of Ladies of St. Anne's at Holy Family Church.Eugenie enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking for her family and most of all loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She is survived by four sons Lionel Baillargeon and his wife Therese of Poland, Emery Baillargeon and his wife Betty of Leeds, Andre Baillargeon and his wife Joyce of Turner and Nelson Baillargeon and his wife Karen of Hebron; one sister Jeannette Mazerolle of Aldouane, New Brunswick; 24 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a son Gerard Baillargeon; a daughter Bernadette Leighton; and also 13 brothers and sisters.The family wishes to thank the staff at Montello Manor and the Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for the wonderful care they have given to Eugenie. NOTICE Baillargeon- Died in Lewiston Wednesday April 7, 2010. Mrs. Eugenie Baillargeon age 96 formerly a resident of Auburn. A Funeral Mass honoring Eugenie's life will be celebrated on Saturday at 11AM at Holy Family Church Prince of Peace Parish.
