Gilberte Yvette Blais

Greene-Gilberte Yvette Blais 77, of Ledge View Rd. Greene, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday October 24, with her loving husband at her side. She was born in St. Martin Canada, on July 16, 1937 a daughter of the late Emile and Fernande (Poulin) Poulin. Gilberte married the love of her life, Marcel Blais on July 26, 1958. She worked in the Lewiston mills sewing handbags and shoes. She was a very active member of Auburn Baptist Church and loved her church family. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics, baking, flowers, playing cards with her husband Marcel and friends. Her family was very important to her and she loved family gatherings where she was known for her amazing deserts. She leaves her husband of 56 years, Marcel Blais of Greene, her three children: Alain Blais and his wife Corinne of Monmouth, Mario Blais and his wife Candy of Greene, and Joanne Audet and her husband Steve of Mechanic Falls, six grandchildren: Ricky, Crystal, Shawn, Amy, Sarah, and Zachary, nine great grandchildren, a sister Micheline Madore and husband Nelson of Sabattus, seven brothers: Guy Poulin and wife Murielle of Quebec, Gaetan Poulin and wife Murielle of Quebec, Marc Poulin and wife Madeline of Lewiston, Jean-Luc Poulin and wife Patricia of Sabattus, Paul Poulin and wife Gerry of Auburn, Claude Poulin and wife Claudette of Lewiston, and Marcel Poulin and wife Denise of Lewiston, a sister in law Gloria Poulin of MA and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her great granddaughter, Genevieve Blais and a brother Jacques Poulin. Visitation Fortin Lewiston Sunday Oct. 26, from 5-8 PM. Funeral will be celebrated on Monday Oct. 27 at 11am at Auburn Baptist Church on Poland Rd in Auburn.
