Ms. Gisele S. Gastonguay

Born to Alfred and Alpheda Verville, Gisele dedicated her life to caring for others, working proudly as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She served the community with compassion and commitment through her many years at St. Mary’s Hospital and Marshwood Nursing Home, where her kindness and steady presence touched countless lives.

Gisele was also known for her exceptional cooking - especially around the holidays and special events, when her family eagerly gathered to enjoy the meals and treats she lovingly prepared. She had a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed playing the piano, often filling her home with melodies that brought comfort and joy. A creative spirit, she also occasionally expressed herself through painting.

Devoted to her faith, Gisele said her rosary often, finding peace and strength in her spiritual life. 

Above all, she deeply loved her family and found her greatest joy in the time she spent with them. 

She is survived by her daughter Carol Robillard; her son and daughter-in-law James and Pauline Gastonguay; her son, Robert Gastonguay; her daughter-in-law Lisa Gastonguay; and her sister, Jan Fortier. She leaves behind many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever remember her gentle strength and unwavering love. 

Gisele was predeceased by her husband, John Gastonguay, her son, David Gastonguay, and brother, Henry Verville. 

Gisele will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her legacy of kindness, creativity and devotion will live on in the hearts of her family. 

The family extends heartfelt appreciation to the staff of D’Youville Pavillion (3 East) for their compassionate care and support. 

A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Gisele’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Committal Services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025 from 4-8 PM at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston, 784-4023.
