Gordon Martineau

Lewiston- Gordon J. Martineau 77, of Treemount Dr. Lewiston, died Monday February 6, 2012, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, with his family by his side. He was born in Waterville on July 25, 1934 a son of the late Elzear and Helen (Goulet) Martineau. He moved to Lewiston as an infant, attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School class of 1953. Gordon married Lydia Schott on June 22, 1956. He delivered milk for many years, working for Cotes, Oakhurst and Hemmond's Dairies. He then went on to drive for City Bus and Hudson Bus Line. Gordon enjoyed sports, especially following the Red Sox, Bruins, Pats and Celtics, Many of his vacations were to a sporting event of some kind, he also enjoyed going on cruises, boating and camping. He leaves his wife of 55 years Lydia Martineau of Lewiston, a son Blaine Martineau and his wife Denise of Sabattus, two sisters Irene Gosselin and husband Kenneth of PA, and Jeannine Maliar and husband Robert of CT, a brother Roger Martineau and wife Geneva of Lewiston, three grandchildren Shannon and Chad Martineau of Sabattus and Cortney Cyr and her companion Michael Gola of Waterville, a great grandson Calab, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Derren Martineau. The family would like to send a very special thank you to the nurses and Dr. Kahn at St. Mary's ICU and to Dr. Seth Gordon, for the wonderful care given to Gordon while he was under their care.
