Lewiston-Helen C. Alden 92, of Lewiston died Saturday August 18, at Russell Park Manor. She was born in Lewiston on November 11, 1925 a daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Chorzempa) Cholewa. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High school. Helen married her true love, Gerald S. Alden on August 30, 1947, together they raised their family and lived in Orono, Turner and Auburn. Gerald predeceased her in 1994. She worked as an Administrative Assistant at Lewiston City Hall, Walton Jr. High School, Central Middle School and retired from Edward Little High School.
Helen enjoyed her flower gardens, knitting baking, singing “Sto-Lat”, ballroom dancing and spending time at the ocean in Jonesport Maine. She was also a 4-H Leader. She was a communicant of St. Philip’s Church.
Helen is survived by her daughter Kathleen Alden, sons, Gerald Alden Jr. and Dana Alden, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister Josephine Cholewa and her daughter Judith Carlile and her son in law Roy Carlile.

Friends and family are welcome to attend a graveside service on Saturday August 25 at 11 am at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lewiston, followed by a luncheon at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Lewiston. In honor of Helen’s life the family has asked all to wear something bright and colorful to help celebrate her life.
