Auburn- Helen Rita Little passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Schooner Estates. She was born August 1, 1920 to Joseph and Josephine (Doyon) Grondin in Lewiston. She attended local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School. After high school she took numerous shorthand and typing courses. Following school she was employed in the executive office of Bates Manufacturing Co. until its closing. She went on to Geiger Brothers as secretary to Frank Geiger. Her last employer was the U.S Postal Service as stenographer to three Post Masters. Helen met Ellis Little at a dance held for Military Personnel. They were married October 7, 1944 at St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Lewiston. Together they raised two sons.
Helen was a caring and active member of the community, volunteering at Saint Dominic Academy business office, St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, and St. Mary's Hospital Gift Shop. She was also active in the Lewiston Bridge Club, St. Patrick's Church Choir, and the local NARFE Chapter. Helen loved to travel, New Orleans being one of her favorite destinations. She enjoyed spending time with family at her cottage on Sabattus Lake, playing the piano, and cards.
Helen is survived by her sons, Paul Little and his wife Pamela (Berube), J. Harold Little and his wife Doris (Therriault); her grandchildren Brian Little and his wife Jocelyn Taylor, Kathryn Little, Kimberly Little and her husband Todd Critchfield, Amy Little, and Carolyn Little and her husband Aaron Fish; great-grandchildren Phebe and Amelia Little, Emmalyn and Addilyn Little Fish; her step great-grandchildren Clara, Madison and Caden Critchfield. Helen was predeceased by her husband Ellis Z. Little on July 25, 1985; her parents and her siblings, Jean Paul, Maurice, and Dorothy Neault. Helen's family would like to thank the Schooner Estates staff and Androscoggin Home Healthcare & Hospice for the excellent care they provided.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 4-8pm at The Fortin Group, Lewiston. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Basilica, Monday, 11am, August 27, 2018. Committal service to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery Chapel.
