

LEWISTON- Irene A. Perry, 90, formerly of Barker Mill Arms in Auburn, died peacefully with family at her side on March 27th 2010. She was a resident at Marshwood Healthcare Facility for the past 2 years.Born in Lewiston on April 3, 1919, Irene was the daughter of Hermenegilde & Caroline (Levesque) Drouin. She attended schools in Jackman, Maine & worked in local shoe industries for more than 40 years. Throughout her life Irene's favorite hobbies included reading, politics, traveling, bingo, sewing and she also had an exceptional talent playing the piano. However, her ultimate passion was caring for her children and grandchildren and her involvement in their academic and athletic activities. Irene was a devote communicant of Sts. Peter & Paul Basilica, in Lewiston and in later years, St. Louis Church in Auburn. Irene was married in 1941 to Albert J. Perry (Poirier), of Rumford, ME. Survivors include daughters: Madeleine Barnaby, Conway NH, and Genevieve Nadeau & husband, Bruce of Auburn, ME; 3 grandchildren: Erin Walters & husband, Timothy of Myrtle Beach, SC, Sarah Nadeau of Brooklyn, NY, and Andrew Nadeau of Salem, MA.; 2 Great-Grandchildren: Alison Irene & Megan Laura Walters of Myrtle Beach, SC; Very dear friend ("PRECIOUS PEARL BUTTON") Jeanne David; Several special nieces, nephews & in-laws. Irene is predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Perry; Sisters: Bernadette Guerin and Cecile Despres; Brother: Joseph Gerard Drouin; and two grandchildren.
