

LEWISTON- Irene M. Tremblay, 87, of 102 Campus Avenue, Lewiston died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at D’Youville Pavilion following a short illness. She was born in Lewiston, Maine on November 15, 1927 the daughter of the late Alphonse and Anna (Fournier) and had been a resident of this community all of her life. She was married to Armand Tremblay on July 28, 1945; he died on February 24, 1992. She was employed for many years at the Libby Mill as an inspector until her retirement in 1989. Irene was very dedicated to her church where she was a Eucharistic Minister at the Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul. She enjoyed traveling, cooking and baking for her family, playing the keyboard, dining out and shopping with her family and friends and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter Pauline Lagasse and her husband Reginald of Lewiston; two granddaughters Amie Lagasse and her fiancé Robin Morris of Minot and Sarah Lagasse and her fiancé Adam Gauthier of Sabattus; three great grandsons Remi and Reece Gauthier and Bryson Morris; three brothers Roger Montminy of Massachusetts, Edgar Montminy of Belfast and Gerard Montminy of Lewiston; two sister-in-laws Laura and Jeanne Tremblay of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers Leo and Armand Montminy; and three sisters Marie Cote, Jeanne Treadwell and Bernice Martin.

A Funeral Mass honoring Irene’s life will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul Church (Lower Chapel). Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
