Lewiston- Mrs. Jacqueline Baril, age 92, passed away at the home of a niece, under home hospice care. She was born in Lewiston on June 25, 1929, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse and Gracia Picard Bilodeau. A lifelong resident of Lewiston, she was educated in area schools. On June 18, 1949, she was married to Fernand Baril, the love of her life, who passed away December 31, 2019, after seventy years of marriage. She worked at Clark Shoe in Auburn until starting her family, raising three sons as a full-time homemaker housewife. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, the Holy Cross Seniors, and the Passe Temp Club in Lewiston. She loved to dance in her younger years, enjoyed many bus tours with her husband and their many close friends. She especially enjoyed volunteering at Val’s Flower Boutique in Lewiston with nephews and nieces, card games with friends, children, grandchildren and frequent weekend games with her special partner, Logan, a grandnephew. She is survived by a brother Raymond and wife Carmel of Auburn, her three sons, Gerard and wife Linda of Carrabassett Valley, Norman and fiancée Bertha Martinez of Lewiston, and Ronald and wife Rebecca of Minot. Five grandchildren, Brian Baril and wife Michelle of Goffstown, NH, Amanda Krasa and husband Kyle of Pebble Beach, CA, Adam Baril and wife Megan of South Paris, ME, Alyssa Lanphear and husband David of Newburyport, MA and Audrey Brown and husband Peter of Poland, ME. Four great grandchildren, Samantha Baril of Goffstown, NH, Jonah Krasa of Pebble Beach, CA, and Phoebe and Sabrina Brown of Poland, ME. Many nieces and nephews, in particular “ma tante Jackie’s” loving nieces Claudette Turcotte and husband Gerald, and Carmen Mailhot and husband Donald who both provided home care and recovery assistance when needed. She was predeceased by her parents and four brothers, Joseph, Raoul, Valmore and Roger, and six sisters, Armande Belisle, Juliette Fontaine, Sr. Yvette Bilodeau, Yolande Harvey, Muriel Fontaine, and Gilberte Baril. Visitation will be on May 12, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fortin Funeral Home at 70 Horton St. in Lewiston. A funeral Mass will be said May 13, 2022, at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston at 11:00 AM, followed by internment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. The family wants to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the attentive and loving care “Jackie” received during her stay in the Cardiac Care Unit at SMRMC in Lewiston, and the at-home hospice care from Maine Center for Palliative Medicine, provided by Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice of Lewiston.
