

AUBURN - Jeannette M. Sarrazin, 90, of Lewiston died Monday April 23rd at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with her family by her side following a short illness. She was born In Disraeli, P.Q. Canada on May 1, 1921, the daughter of Desire and Olivine (Lehoux) Grenier coming to the United States at the age of two. She was educated at the former St. Mary’s School and Lewiston High School. She was married on August 16, 1947 to Philippe Sarrazin who died August 16, 1991. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed in the local shoe industry, and was co-owner of Sarrazin’s Market on Lincoln St. with her husband for many years. She very much loved talking with people who came to her store. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother taking pride in many of her grandchildren’s accomplishments. She enjoyed spending time with her family at her camp and traveling to Florida as well as playing cards with her grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Prince of Peace Parish and a communicant of Holy Cross Church, and prayed the Rosary everyday. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Breton and husband, Charles; Diane Theriault and husband, Maurice, a son, Paul and wife Patricia; eight grandchildren, Lisa Breton-Eaton, Julie Thebarge and husband, Derek, Anne Theriault and husband Marshall Flowers; John Theriault and wife Gina; Andrew Theriault and fiancé Maria Dallas; Joseph Theriault, Amy Sarrazin Wedge and husband, Ryan, and Michael Sarrazin; 4 great grandchildren, Matthew and Rachael Thebarge, Marcel Eaton and Grace Flowers. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Antonio Grenier. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Mary’s Health Care System and Androscoggin Hospice House.
