Jeannine R. Roux
December 29, 1941 – April 25, 2021
LEWISTON---Jeannine (Turgeon) Roux, 79, a resident of Oak Park in Lewiston, passed away at CMMC due to Covid-19 with her family by her side on April 25, 2021.
She was born in Lewiston on December 29, 1941, the daughter of Yvette (Michaud) and Onesime Turgeon. Jeannine attended St. Mary’s School through middle school and then obtained her GED from Lewiston High School at age 41. Jeannine spent most of her working years doing various jobs in shoe factories and, for the last few years before retiring, was employed at an optical lab.
Jeannine loved spending time with her two children, three grandchildren, and her great-granddaughter, Madeline Jeannine. Being a Memere was the most important thing in her life. Having her first great-grandchild given her name as a middle name meant the world to her. Sadly, Madeline was only 2 months when Covid took her Great-Memere away from her. After more than a year of seclusion due to the pandemic, Jeannine was looking forward to watching her eldest granddaughter raise her beautiful baby girl, to seeing her grandson marry his high school sweetheart in September, and to next year seeing her youngest granddaughter graduate from college and begin her life with her long-time boyfriend. Jeannine also enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo, shopping, and going to dinner with her cousins and friends, who she was very close to.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, James Roux of Turner; daughter, Lisa (Roux) Asselin and her husband, Glen of Sabattus; three grandchildren, Heather (Roux) Poirier and her husband, Ben, of Sumner; Parker Asselin and his fiancé Ashley Clifford of Brunswick; and Abigail Asselin and her boyfriend Brent Mulherin of Sabattus; one great-grandchild, Madeline Jeannine Poirier of Sumner; Sisters-in-law Irene Obie, Patsy Roux, and Millie Michaud; and many very special cousins, friends, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Jeannine was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Roux, her brother, Raymond Michaud, and her brother-in-law, John Roux.
