Joanne Marie Dillion

Joanne Marie Dillion born April 2nd 1956, 69, of Lewiston, ME, passed away on Thursday July 31st.

She was born in Roxbury, MA in 1956 to Joseph W. Dillion and Rita F. Dillion [Getherall], primarily growing up in Dorchester. Joanne proudly joined the military after high school and was a Navy Veteran for 20 years, then later left to attend New Hampshire Technical Institute. She was an active Relay for Life volunteer as well as a Volunteer runner at the local CMMC hospital.

Her “Aloha spirit” and excitement for life led her across the USA with her brother Joe and to many countries both in the Navy and enjoying retired life with vacations which included a cruise to Bermuda with her nieces and nephews.

Joanne was preceded in death by her sister Deborah Barnes, nephews Richard Dillion and Sean Dillon, her beloved friends Linda Goyette and Heidi Belinda Provencher, and her cats Jessie and Star.

She is survived by twin brother Joseph Dillion, her sisters Francis Leahy, Rita Dillion, and Beverly Cotton, her nieces and nephews: Melissa Garrott, Kelly Dillion, Erin and Leanne Leahy, Jamie and James Lawrence as well as her beloved GREAT nieces and nephews: Emma Leahy, Ashley and Caden Dillion, William Harris, Jackie Dillon, McKenzie and Trevor Garrott, Everly and Vivienne Lawrence, Kylen Damaso Socop and her cats Bailee and Maddie.

She loved Kayaking, being with her family, time with friends, and her cats. Her days were always filled with who and what made her happy.

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday August 18th 2025 at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in the Chapel at 163 Mount Vernon RD, Augusta Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The American Cancer Society, Hospice House, or your local Humane Society would be greatly appreciated in her honor. Arrangements by The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston.
