Joseph A. Poulin

LEWISTON- Joseph A. Poulin, 83, of 1 Circle Drive, Lewiston, died Thursday November 20, 2008 at Marshwood Center For Health Care & Rehabilitation following a short illness. He was born in Pittsburgh, New Hampshire on March 20, 1925 the son of Traffle and Madora (LeClare) Poulin and had been a resident of this community for most of his life. He was employed for many years as a hand sewer in the shoe industry and for ten years was employed at Bates College until his retirement on August 22, 2001. Joseph enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and fly tying, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Family Church. He is survived by his wife the former Alice Morin of Lewiston; one son Gerard Poulin and his wife Claire of Land of Lakes, Florida; two daughters Joan Pinard-Rhoades and her husband Thomas and Diane Cote-Despins and her husband Dennis all of Lewiston; one step-son Rosaire Morin of Lewiston; two step-daughters Louise Letourneau of Nampa, Idaho and Denise Flonc of Monroe, CT.; three brothers Robert and Bertrand Poulin both of New Bedford, MA. and Albert Poulin of Lisbon; two sisters Angeline Merrill of Litchfield and Mary Jane Girouard of Lewiston; five grandchildren David Cote, Suzanne and Steven Pinard, Jenny Shimmel and James Poulin; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Valencia Provencher who died on August 28, 1998. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Marshwood for the wonderful care and compassion they have given to Joseph during his stay and also to Dr. Nedaa Skeik. NOTICE Poulin- Died in Lewiston Thursday November 20, 2008. Mr. Joseph A. age 83 a resident of Lewiston. A Funeral Mass celebrating Joseph's life will be held Tuesday November 25, 2008 at 11AM at Holy Family Church. Interment in the family lot at St. Peter's Cemetery.
