

LEWISTON: Laurette Boulay, 92, formerly of Auburn, passed away Monday morning at D'Youville Pavilion in Lewiston following a long illness. She was born in Lewiston on September 6, 1920 a daughter of the late Ulric and Odiana (Bergeron) Grenier. She grew up in Canada and attended schools there. On September 2, 1940 she married the love of her life, Rene Boulay and together they started and raised a family. She worked for several years as a spinner in various textile mills. She eventually retired as a cleaner at St. Mary's hospital. Laurette will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, her passion for knitting and her enjoyment of putting together puzzles. She is survived by her two sons, Bertrand and his wife Anita of Auburn and Donald and his wife Barbara of Massachusetts; her daughter Joline Bentley of South Hampton, MA, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two brothers and seven sisters. She was predeceased by her loving husband Rene, three brothers and four sisters. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Lewiston on Monday at 11am with a committal service and interment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery also in Lewiston.
