Leona Grace (Clough) Chartier passed away peacefully with her family and her friends {hospice nirses) at her side on October 20th 2023. Leona (Lee) enjoyed watching old movies with John Wayne, visits with her family, windchimes that hung around her bedroom, and talking about George Jones before suffering a stroke at age 47. She was a book lover and loved to bowl on a women's league, but her family meant the most to herlife. Her eyes always lit up when you walked into her room that love would shine through her eyes. She always made sure to grab your hand when the visit ended and would tell you she loved you and give you three kisses.
She worked as a bar tender and later in life at the Chic-A-Dee restaurant in Turner.
She lived with her sister , Katherine and brother in law George Spear of Turner for many years. Katherine (Kay) and Leona were not only sisters but best friends.
Leona was born in Barre, VT.,on July 29, 1943 to her parents Helen and Levi Clough.
She married Roger Gonyea and they had six children together four surviving.
Survivors Jody and John Morin of Cantinm Christopher and Jaimie Gonyea of Bowdoinham, Brett and jaylene Gonyea of Hartford, William Gonyea and wife Jillian Richardson of Turner. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, 8 great grandchldren who she adored and loved deeply along with lots a]of nieces and nephews. Also leaves behind one sister Katherine Spear and husband George of Turner, and one brother Homer Clough of Auburn.
Besides her parents she was predeceased two siblings, Levi Jr., and Patsy Clough, two babies Samuel and Jilliene Gonyea.

Burial will take place 1:00PM Friday November 3rd at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, A
A celebration of life will be held at a later time
