

BEDFORD N.H. - Lillian J. Long 76, of Milford, NH. formerly of Lewiston, died Tuesday, September 15th at the Bedford Hills Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family following a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s and Lyme disease. She was born in Lewiston, March 12, 1933, the daughter of Emile and Imelda (Lavoie) Larrivee. She was educated in Lewiston, and worked at Philips Elmet and as a fancy stitcher in the local shoe industry most of her life until her retirement at the age of 62. Following her retirement, she and her husband, moved to Milford, NH where three of her four children reside in the surrounding area. Lillian married the love of her life, Harold “Jack” Long in Lewiston on February 27, 1954. During her employment at various shoe shops, she organized bus trips to Boston for the “Shoe Shop Ladies” for over 20 years. She had a passion for traveling with her husband. She loved dancing and playing cards, casino trips, family gatherings, cooking, playing the piano, camping, listening to jokes and enjoyed being a social butterfly. Lil possessed an abundance of “Joie De Vivre”. She was the glue that kept family and friends together. Besides her husband, Jack, she leaves behind four children, Carol and husband Phil Laurendeau, Dennis Long, and Gilda Stigliano, Timothy and wife Mehrnaz Long; eight grandchildren, Kevin and wife Marisa Laurendeau, Kellie Cardona, Kristen Laurendeau, Jason and Jessica Long, Cassandra and Kyle Long, and Leah Stigliano; three great grandchildren Emilie and Aiden Laurendeau and Noah Cardona, her brother, Robert Larrivee and wife Rachel, sister in law Dolores Larrivee and many cousins, nieces, nephews both here and Canada. Besides her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Reginald. LONG died in Bedford, NH, September 15, 2009, Mrs. Lillian J. Long age 76 years formerly of Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring Lillian’s Life will be celebrated FRIDAY 11:00AM at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. Committal to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
