Linda Lee Hilts

Born June 20, 1961, daughter of Anita Collette & David Laliberte, Linda grew up in Auburn/Lewiston and graduated from Edward Little High School, later pursuing a lengthy career in the insurance industry. Most recently, Linda had retired early to spend time with her grandchildren.

Linda married the love of her life Raymond Hilts, and later settled to reside in Greene, ME, where they raised their children. Linda spent the majority of her years dedicated to taking care of her family while also maintaining a career she had made for herself and truly loved. She put great emphasis on being a mother first, even while working and was what held her family together. Never taking no for an answer when family was involved, which we will be forever grateful for. Linda took in and cared for many over the years and would give anything to help that she could.

She was a phenomenal cook and watching people enjoy whatever she made was something she loved. She enjoyed flowers, plants & her garden, but especially the sunflowers her son brought her as he got older.

Later on, she was often spending any free time she had with Raymond and their dog Kia, at the camp they built in Avon, ME. Many weekends were spent playing cards, sitting by the fire, having lobster feeds with family & friends, but more importantly, never turning down a game of Scrabble, Linda's favorite. But most of all, she spent every moment she could with her grandchildren, who were truly her whole heart. Sleepovers, school events, sports, sick days and beyond. Linda knew it all, she did it all, and we couldn’t thank her enough for being what held our family together. The void her loss has created will be felt forever, in everything we do, and for everyone who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by husband, Raymond Hilts of Greene, Daughter Stacy & husband Gary Ross of Auburn, Daughter Michelle & husband Ryan Ryder of Greene, son Benjamin Hilts of Sabattus, granddaughter Victoria Burgess and grandsons Owen Ryder & Colt Ryder. Linda is also survived by several brothers & sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Linda was predeceased by twin daughters, Kristen and Nicole Hilts, Mother Anita Autry (Collette), Father, David Laliberte and first grandson, Thomas Ryder.

The family would like to thank everyone at CMMC & Boston’s Lahey Clinic, for the care she received in her final days and comfort for the family. A special heartfelt thank you to Heather Michaud, Linda's best friend, for unknowingly being the support and strength our family needed on our worst day.

In honor of Linda's wishes to come together comfortably and enjoy our time remembering her, a Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 4th, 2026, 12:00-4:00 PM at The Vista in Greene ME. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations instead, be made to The Colby Fund. This can be done by visiting St. Mary’s website under “Donate”.
