

Lorena H. Sedgeley, 88, of Lewiston, died peacefully Thursday July 30, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Guerette, March 4th 1932, the daughter of Adelard and Yvonne Lagasse Hebert. In 1951 she married Gordon Sedgeley, the love of her life, and they enjoyed 54 years of marriage, he died in 2005.
Lorena grew up on a potato farm in northern Maine where she learned her work ethic along with her 18 siblings. She was educated in Guerette schools and earned her high school diploma in Mechanic Falls. Lorena was a hard worker and never long without employment and always feisty and quick-witted. If you were on the receiving end of her humor it was an indication she liked you. For a period of time, she lived in Connecticut and worked at Pratt and Whitney. In 1963, along with her husband she built Muskegon Camping Area in Oxford, which she fondly owned and operated with Gordon until 1987. There were great memories shared there with many friends and family.
She was a favorite “Gram”and “Mee mee” and enjoyed spending special time with her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great- great -grandson. She remained strong in fortitude her whole life physically, mentally and spiritually and bravely fought a number of illnesses and served as a role model for her family. She was a wonderful cook and showed her love by cooking and baking family favorites. Whatever she did she was competitive, especially weekly cards, Yahtzee and miniature golf with her many sisters.
Survivors include her daughter Christine Fournier and husband John of Lewiston. 11 sisters: Mrs. Mildred Rioux, Mrs. Albertine (Rosaire) Poisson, Mrs. Cecile Levesque, Ms. Madeline Bowie, Mrs. Evelyn Jean, Mrs. Odelie Lessard, Mrs. Lucille (Richard) Gilbert, Ms. Marcella Hebert, Ms. Bernadette Posnick, Ms. Janet Baron, Ms. Sandra Dumais. 3 brothers: Roger (Theresa) Hebert, Reginald (Claudette) Hebert, Marcel (Rita) Hebert. Her grandson Royce Breton, great- granddaughters Haley Breton, Rylee Cardali, Allison Breton, LilleyAnna, great- grandson Myles and great- great- grandson Zayden Breton.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by her grandson Ryan Breton, sister Verna Levesque, and brothers Clifford, Robert and Ronald Hebert.
