

LEWISTON- Loretta Blanche Arsenault, age 86, formerly of Prospect St., succumbed to dementia and passed away peacefully at d”Youville Pavilion on Sunday morning February 2, 2014 with her loving and special son John by her side. She was born in Lewiston, March 13,1927, one of seven children of William and Marie Louise (Langelier) Meservier. At a very young age she went to work in the mills to help her parents and family. At various times throughout her life she was employed at other establishments such as Paragon Glass and lastly Montello Manor where she was known to her coworkers as smiley. Loretta brought sunshine into every room and happiness to all who met her, and shared an unconditional love that was uncommon. She married Joseph A Arsenault on September 6th 1948. Joseph passed away on August 13th 1970. She dedicated her life to raising her eight children after the death of her husband. She was an amazing mother and friend to her children. Loretta was a special friend to all and was considered a Mom by many others in addition to her own children. She just loved to live life. Her smile was infectious and will sadly be missed by all who knew her. It comforts us to know that she is now with her husband, Joseph and her son, Donald as well as her sisters Rita and Lucienne, her special sister in law and best friend Lillian Arsenault and other relatives who predeceased her. She is survived by three sons all of Lewiston, Anthony, Raymond and wife Doris and John and wife Christine, four daughters, Suzanne Harvey and husband Brian of Rumford, Theresa Martin and husband Brian of Turner, Linda Waters and husband Chet of North Carolina and Janet Blanton and significant other Tommy Harrelson of North Carolina, 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers Nel Meservier and wife Janine and Armand Meservier and wife Diane all of Lewiston, three sisters Theresa Beaulieu of Auburn, Claudette Caron, Jeanine St.Pierre and husband Claude of Lewiston and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph, twin girls Sally and Suzie, her son Donald, her daughter in law Constance Arsenault, sisters Rita Bazinet and Lucien Giasson and several brothers and sisters in law. Loretta's family would like to thank the professional staff at d'Youville Pavilion and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the wonderful care she received during her final days.
