January 10, 1927February 25, 2019

Scarborough – Lorraine T. Vincent, 92, of Scarborough, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at The Gosnell House in Scarborough, Maine with her loving family by her side. Lorraine was born on January 10,1927 in Livermore Falls, Maine. She was the daughter of Wilfred and Laura Ouellette Poisson. She spent her early childhood years in Livermore Falls and was an outstanding basketball player during her early high school years before moving to Lewiston.

Lorraine met her husband Louis Vincent at a dance where it was love at first sight. Louis and Lorraine were married in Lewiston on November 11th, 1947. They spent 63 glorious years together before Louis passed away in 2010. Lorraine spent over 20 years working at the Ramada Inn, cleaning rooms with her sister Pauline, while her grandchildren snuck into the pool.

Lorraine’s biggest love was her family and close group of friends. She showed her love by making the world’s best meat pies at Christmas, tending her garden and listening to music. She also loved rummaging through all the local garage sales, procuring an amazing collection of Lewiston’s finest knick-knacks and oddities. She also loved puzzles and horses, and especially puzzles featuring horses. Finally, Lorraine was not afraid to give a playful jab to the arm of any poor soul who would beat her at her favorite game, Canasta.

Lorraine spent the last few years of her life battling dementia in the care of her daughter, Jane Hart. She was also survived by her two sons: Norman and Gregory, four grandchildren: Sarah, Adam, Justin, Derek, and several great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorraine’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Association, 383 US Route One, Scarborough, Maine 04074

Although I was pretty young I remember my parents traveling up from Somerville, Mass. to some great gatherings at camp in Wayne and Augusta. There was some great memories with those trips. My mom Georgette was an only child so all of her first cousins felt like sisters to her. Lorraine was the last to pass. Its too bad that my mother couldn't have had more time with her cousins. She passed at a young age of 47. Lorraine as I recall was meek and quite similar to my mother's personality. She will truly be missed. Peace to her and all her family in this grieving time.
