

Auburn-Louis Philippe Hamann, age 97, died 7/24/2012 at the Hospice House in Auburn after a lengthy illness. He was a recent resident of Clover Health Care, formerly of 20 Jepson St Lewiston and Maison Marcotte. He was born February 13, 1915 in Quebec,Canada to Cleophas and Alexandrine Larochelle Hamann. He was educated in Lewiston schools, was a former jeweler in Dover NH and Chisholm Me, having graduated from a Pittsburg Pa. school of design and repair. He was a master oil burner man for Louis P Bail until his retirement. He was an army veteran, having served in World War ll. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor, his self taught musical ability, recognized by all for his whistling and singing,was the life of every party and was loved by all who met him. He was a tender, loving, and caring person. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Fernande Landry,whom he married in 1946. He is also survived by two daughters, Lorraine and husband Robert Kitchen of Rhode Island, and Aline and husband Richard Mailhot of Greene Me; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a newborn daughter,Mariette,a newborn grandson, Steven, 11 brothers and sisters along with several nephews and nieces. The family wishes to thank Dr G. Hatfield, Dr J.
