Lynn Etta Heathco

Lynn Heathco, 82, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, mother-in-law, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2026 in her Auburn, Maine home. She spent her final moments in the company of her husband, Raymond, two days after their 60th wedding anniversary.

Born in Minot, Maine, she dedicated her life to caring for others. She served as a nurse for 42 years, answering a calling that brought her deep pride, lifelong memories, and a profound sense of purpose. During her years of service, including her time at St. Agnes Hospital of Fresno, CA and as Supervisor of Nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston, ME she was a passionate advocate for the field, supporting others who shared her dedication to patient care. Many of her most precious friendships were also formed through this enduring career.

As good a nurse as Lynn was, she was an even better mother to her four sons: Joseph, Fredrick, Thomas, and Alexander. She always provided them with kindness and love and made sure they had everything they ever needed, including the confidence, independence, and support to be successful and comfortable. She was blessed with six beautiful grandchildren who all loved their Nana, and had just learned of a great-grandson expected to arrive this December.

She loved the beauty of Maine–the changing seasons, the rugged coastline, and its simple pleasures. She found happiness in her garden and peace in time spent with family and friends. She loved to cook for those she loved, and to laugh with good company over a glass of white wine.

Lynn is survived by her beloved husband, Ray Heathco, her eldest sister, Joan Bussier, her sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Tammy Heathco, Fred Heathco and Mary Nicholson, Tom and Saya Heathco, and Alex and Meme Heathco, and her grandchildren and grandson-in-laws, Brooke Heathco and Spencer Drake, Maxwell Heathco, Lily-Anna & Noah Yarnevich, Mackenzie Heathco, and Bowen and Wolfe Heathco.

Her legacy lives on in the nurses she mentored, the family she built, and the friendships she cherished. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.

A Graveside Service for Lynn will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 10am at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210. Family and Friends are welcome to attend.
