Mary Witten (Pepin) Belanger

Auburn-Mary Witten (Pepin) Belanger, 65, of Manchester, formerly of Auburn, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 11, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Mary was born in Bangor in 1949 to the late Elmer & Charlotte Witten. She was raised on Minot Ave in Auburn and was a graduate of ELHS. Mary was an employee of Wal-Mart in Auburn (15 years) and Wal-Mart in Augusta (7 years). Mary was an avid gospel musician having been involved in several organizations to share her love of the Lord through her music. Though she could not read sheet music she played the piano, guitar, Hawaiian guitar, banjo, and was just learning the mandolin. She was a lifetime member of DECMA {DownEast Country Music Assn.), MACM (Maine Academy of Country Music and MCMA (Maine Country Music Assoc.). She had been a member of The Salvation Army in Lewiston since 1962, was youth leader for several years, and continued to support the organization throughout her life. She is survived by her husband, Maurice Belanger, of Manchester; daughter, Wanda Brann and husband (Scott) of Hoover, AL; grandsons, Henry North and Zachary North of Hoover, AL; and, step-daughter, Serena Belanger of Lewiston. Mary is also survived by her; sister, Connie (Witten) Campbell of Shelby, NC; brothers Earl Witten and companion (Kelly) of Bancroft and Paul Witten and wife (Lynn) of Auburn. Mary is also survived by an array of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews & cousins. Belanger-Died in Auburn October 11th. Mary Witten (Pepin) age 65. Funeral services honoring Mary’s life will be held on Thursday Oct. 16th, 2014 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery 7th St. in Auburn.
