

LEWISTON - Merwyn A. Lawrence passed away on August 14th in Lewiston surrounded by his lovingfamily. Merwyn was born April 27th, 1932, the third child of Warren and Leah Lawrence.He attended local schools.Merwyn learned early in life the meaning of hard work while helping out on his parentspoultry farm. He was working at Auburn Motor Home Center at the time of his illness.In June 1959, he married Mary Cotton. Together they raised four daughters. Merwyn was an avid outdoorsman & was often seen heading out fishing with his brother in-law Frank Tower or you could find him tending his garden. Merwyn & Mary loved camping & traveling. Together they visited New York, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Tennessee, Hawaii, Aruba & Florida but most of all, he enjoyed his family camp in Township D.He is survived by his loving wife Mary, his beloved sister Dorothy & her husband Rudy Allen of Auburn, Daughters; Katherine and husband Alan Hatfield of New Gloucester, June & her husband Kenneth Daigle of Durham, Brenda & her husband Randy Hinkleyof Turner, Janet & her husband Leo Morissette of Greene, a son Roy Thompson & wife Joanne of Colorado, 12 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren, life long friends; Galen, Roland, Norman & Ted. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Baby Warren &a son Richard Thibodeau.Merwyn will always be loved, never forgotten, may you rest in peace, we love you! LAWRENCE died in Lewiston, August 14, 2007, Mr. Merwyn A. Lawrence, 75 a resident of Belisle Rd., Turner. A Celebration of Life Service honoring, Merwyn will be held FRIDAY 2:00PM from the Memorial Chapel of Dillingham & Son with Pastor Daniel Johnston presiding. Graveside committal prayers to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn.
