Michael E. Moran

Lewiston-Michael E. Moran Sr. age 84 of Lewiston died �Tuesday July 3, 2007 at Central Maine Medical Center. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 20, 1923 the son of Michael J. and Margaret T. (Fitzgerald) Moran. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School, in Springfield. �He was a �U.S. Army Veteran of WW II serving with the 179th Infantry Company. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action in the European Theater on February 11, 1944. On October 4, 1960 he married the former Helen Tracy in Portsmouth, N.H. and shared 46 years of marriage. He enjoyed bowling, sports and gardening. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Michael E. Jr. and his wife Kendall Moran of Cos Cob, CT, James W. and his wife Barbara Moran of Lewiston, and John F. �Moran and his companion Stephanie Cressey of Gorham, one daughter Patricia Pastore of Sabattus and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers James and John Moran and two sisters Helen Moran and Phyllis Daigle Moran- Died in Lewiston July 3, 2007. Michael E. Sr. age 84 a resident of Lewiston. A mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday July 11, at 10 AM at St. Patrick's Chapel. Burial with Military Honors to follow at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta.
