Normand A. Duchesneau

LEWISTON – Normand A. Duchesneau, 60, a resident of 1098 Main St., Lewiston died unexpectedly Saturday morning at Central Maine Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born in Lewiston, October 18, 1950, the son of Archelas and Alphonsine (Levesque) Duchesneau. At the time of his passing, Normand was employed with Lewiston Public Works and had been employed for over 30 years. He was best known to his family as “Pitou” but at work was known as “Elvis.” Normand was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing as well spending holidays with his family. Survivors include his mother, Alphonsine Lago of Sabattus; his wife the former Nancy Pare whom he married June 22, 1985 of Lewiston; one son, Benjamin Duchesneau of Lewiston; one daughter, Pauline Griffin of Lewiston; three brothers, Paul Duchesneau and his wife, Cecilia of Neveda; Douglas Duchesneau and his companion, Gail of New York; and Richard Duchesneau and his wife, Patricia of Sabattus; three sisters, Henrietta Lounsbury and her husband, Edward of Augusta; Helen Denman and her husband, Rick of New York; and Annette Merrill and her husband, Guy of Auburn. Three grandchildren, Cory and Trevor Shepard as well as Nate Griffin, and also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and their children. Normand’s family would like to thank the ICU Staff at Central Maine Medical Center for all they did in helping Normand and never giving up. He was predeceased by his father, Archelas in 1983. Memorial services honoring Normand’s life will be held WEDNESDAY 11:00AM at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of donations the family asks for you to hop in your car on a nice sunny day and go for a ride to your favorite spot in the country and remember, Normand.
