

Auburn- Mr. Normand L. Lavoie, 74, of Lewiston, passed away Wednesday August 15, 2007. Normand was born on October 5, 1932 in Lewiston, the son of the late Alphonse and Alice (Sevigny) Lavoie. He was educated in Lewiston schools and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 in the Korean Conflict. He earned the Rank of Sergeant with medals including The Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, a Combat Infantry Badge and the National Defense Service Medal. On January 29, 1955 he married the Gisele M. Lafrance of Lewiston. He was an electrician by trade, but was a handyman of all home improvement needs. At the time of his early retirement he was employed by Bath Iron Works. He had also worked for many years for Hannaford Brothers and Real Poulin. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. he loved gardening, puzzles, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved his "three grand doggies" and his cat, Haley. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Gisele of Lewiston, his son Philippe and wife, Sherry of Greene. His daughters, Claire Morgan and Nicole Roy and husband Eric, for Lewiston. His grandchildren, Christian Boileau of Portland, Shannon and Joshua Roy of Lewiston, his brothers Larry and wife Irene of Bonita Springs, FL, Maurice and his wife Jackie of Bedford, NH , Bob and wife Jean of Lewiston, his sisters Veny Lavoie, Jeanine Gosselin and husband Donald, Doris Meservier and husband Paul, Joan Cassavant and husband Louis, all of Lewiston, and Louise Demas and husband Andy of Kingston, MA. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Aime and his son in law, Thomas Morgan. The family would like to thank Androscoggin Home Health, and especially Diane Smith, for the wonderful care he was given by their staff and his short stay at the hospice House.
