OBITUARY

Paul R. Mailhot Jr.

November 29, 1967September 10, 2020

Paul R Mailhot Jr, 52, passed away Thursday evening, September 10th. He was born November 29, 1967 in Lewiston to Paul R Mailhot Sr and Janet Mailhot Fox. Paul was kind soul with a heart of gold. He was smart and funny and he made a huge impact on many, many lives. Paul had a love for the outdoors. Going fishing with his buddy’s and getting his hands dirty in the garden were amongst his favorite things to do. He enjoyed playing disc golf and he lived for his Fantasy Football. Gaming was a passion he shared with his sons, just another way to spend time with his boys when they couldn’t physically be together. Paul is survived by his fiancé, Tracy Short Stevenson. His sons, Paul Brunelle and wife Cortney, Ian Mailhot, Michael Mailhot and fiancé Jamey. His step sons, Dylan Levasseur and Beau Stevenson and fiancé Nicole and also his daughter, Brooke “Trout” Stevenson. Paul is also survived by three beautiful grandchildren, Dominic, Paul and Elaina. Paul also leaves behind his Mother, Janet Mailhot Fox and step-father, Dennis. His brother, Marty Mailhot and wife Cindy. Sisters, Pauline Mailhot Jordan and husband Brian and Kimberly Lausier and partner Khris and his step-brother, Mathew Fox and wife Melissa. As well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts and uncles. Paul was a dedicated employee of Enterprise Foundry in Lewiston for 33 years, he loved that hard work and he cared very much for all his coworkers. His work family was as important to him as his own family. Paul was predeceased by his father as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents and his Aunt Pauline. Paul’s best “fur” friend, Maverick, crossed the Rainbow Bridge less than 24 hours before Paul, waiting for his puppy snuggles and ensuring “daddy” wouldn’t be alone.

I can't ever remember you saying one negative thing my entire life. You made family events so much fun, I don't think I've ever been around you and not laughed the entire time. Its refreshing to be around someone that's as genuine and good as you. Even if I only saw you from time to time it was always a good time. There's very few people in this world like you and you're going to be sorely missed. I'm going to miss you and it saddens me that my son will never get to know you. But I promise I'll make sure he knows how much you mean to this family.

Paul always had a smile and funny comment to make. He will be remembered for his quick whit and sense of humor. My heart breaks for the family but cherish the fond memories as I will. Fly high Paul!!!

I worked with Paul for 33 years at the Enterprise Foundry. We had an ongoing competition with music and I have to say I got the last one when he tried to stump me on song by Jerry Rafferty. Great memories at Barnies on Friday nights when Paul was the DJ. Sadly we were talking about playing Frisbee golf this summer but never got the chance.
Rest in peace Paul!

Paul, I don't ever remember you not smiling . I remember going shopping one day. Pouring rain and you offered to drop Tracy and I at the door while you looked for a parking space so we wouldn't get wet. I was so surprised that you offered that. I knew then that you truly cared about others and that my Tracy would be happy and safe with you
Thank you for loving her and the kids and for giving her years of happiness. I will never watch an old war movie without thinking of you. You are a special man and I am glad I got to know you. Til we meet again, every thought of you will bring a smile.

Knowing Paul Mailhot was a gift of its own. My cousin is one of those people who treated everyone with dignity and respect. While I always attempt to reflect on loss in the most reflective terms, one thing that comes to mind is how Paul always was seen smiling while equally making others smile at the same time. While you Rest In Peace, continue to smile down on all of us as you will be greatly missed in person, but never in our memories.

Paul the short time I knew you. Was awesome. A great dad, son, brother and friend. I hope you are rocking heaven, like you said your sister needed to. Until we meet again bro.

Paul, I have so many good memories of you. Your smile was amazing, as was your positive energy. You left way too soon, but honestly, no matter when you left, it would have been too soon. I'm so grateful to have known you. Rest in paradise, my dear friend.
